A Celebration for Two: An Intimate Elopement at Najil Chak
Updated: Sep 24

There are celebrations meant to belong entirely to two people...
Last week, Lindsey & Marcus’s elopement unfolded into something truly unforgettable: an intimate journey designed exclusively for the couple, where every moment was thoughtfully curated to enjoy, awaken the senses, and create a memorable space to honor the beginning of their shared life.
Rather than simply arriving for a ceremony, the couple stepped into an immersive multi-day experience—one that moved effortlessly from wellness and nourishment to beauty, ritual, and an unforgettable evening beneath the garden canopy.
For Lindsey and Marcus, their elopement at Najil Chak was an intentional choice to step into something deeply personal: a get-away designed around presence, connection, beauty, and the quiet significance of beginning their life together. “We love our families and our friends deeply,” they shared. “Marcus has a huge immediate family, I have a very close-knit family, and together we have a large group of close friends. But this moment meant more to us to share with each other than with anyone else.”

A Morning of Stillness
The day began quietly, surrounded by the lush privacy of the Najil Chak gardens.
In a traditional Mayan wellness studio tucked within the private grounds of the Residence, the couple surrendered to an early-morning relaxing couples massage. The experience offered a gentle transition into the day ahead—a moment to breathe deeply, reconnect, and simply be together before the celebrations began.
Following the treatment, a nurturing fresh meal awaited them on the residence's porch.
The setting was intimate and unhurried: a beautifully dressed table, fresh flavours, personalised service, and the natural beauty of its private gardens. More than brunch, it was an invitation to savour the morning and one another, embracing the inspiring surroundings to finalize writing their vows.

The Art of Becoming
After brunch, the energy of the day began to shift.
In the privacy of the bridal suite, the bride was welcomed by her makeup artist, beginning the transformation into her wedding-day self. Hair and makeup unfolded as another intimate ritual, surrounded by the calm of the residence and the anticipation of what was still to come.
There was no rush.
Only the gentle rhythm of preparation, the quiet excitement of the bride, and the feeling that something extraordinary was gradually taking shape.
When the final details were complete, the gardens were ready to reveal their next chapter.

A Garden Made Sacred
The private garden had been transformed into an enchanted oasis for the couple's symbolic union.
An elevated eatable ceremony canopy design, created by florist Abstract Design which included as part of the composition: artichokes, kale leaves and red cabbages. While the ritual table featured elements such as medicinal herbs, sacred native seeds, and native musical instruments, creating a visual and sensory language rooted in the essence of the Yucatán.

The ritual was intimate and deeply intentional.
At its heart was a cacao ceremony—an opportunity to pause, connect, and enter the union with presence and intention. The ancient symbolism of cacao became a gentle thread through the celebration, evoking warmth, openness, gratitude, and the sweetness of beginning a life together. Vows were shared intimately; with nature as the witness, the couple exchanged their promises in a setting that felt less like a traditional ceremony and more like entering into a private dialogue with the land & themselves.

Dinner Beneath the Garden Lights
As daylight softened into evening, the garden transformed once again.
At its center, a beautifully curated dining table became the stage for the final chapter of the day. Designed by Conie Suarez & Carla Marquez exclusively for the bride and groom, the setting combined romantic elegance with the organic character of the residence.
Above the table, a delicate chandelier cast a warm glow over the celebration.
Soft music drifted through the gardens. Copal incense drifted gently into the night air. Tiny lights began to shimmer around the surrounding landscape, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate, cinematic, and entirely their own.
There were no schedules to follow, and no distractions. Only the two of them, seated together beneath the garden canopy, celebrating the beginning of their marriage over an elevated private dining experience.

A Celebration Meant for Two
This was not simply a wedding day, but a carefully composed journey through the senses.
A morning of restoration.
A table prepared with intention.
The quiet ritual of getting ready.
A garden transformed into a sacred space.
Cacao, native botanicals, seeds, copal, and the elements.
And finally, an intimate dinner illuminated beneath the trees.
Every detail was designed to make the couple feel completely present—to remove the noise and leave only what mattered.
Their union.
Their connection.
Their beginning.
Captured by the talented Conie Suarez, the elopement became something beyond an event. It became a private world created for two—a deeply personal celebration where nature, ritual, hospitality, and romance came together in perfect harmony.
A day to remember not because it was grand, but because every moment belonged to them.

Congratulations to Lindsey & Marcus.
